dConstruct Robotics and SBS Transit have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the deployment of cutting-edge robotics solutions for rolling stock operations and maintenance. This partnership marks a significant step towards integrating advanced technology into public transportation maintenance.
Driving Innovation in Rail Maintenance
Building on the successful trials of the Advanced Video Analytics Train Assessment Robot (AVATAR)* program at Sengkang Depot, dConstruct Robotics and SBS Transit are deepening their collaboration to push the boundaries of rail maintenance technology.
Inspiring Future Talent in Robotics
Beyond improving maintenance efficiency, this partnership will also foster innovation by providing students and aspiring engineers with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge robotics. Through site visits and industry engagement, they will have the opportunity to explore advanced robotic applications and contribute to solving key challenges in the railway industry.
This collaboration between dConstruct Robotics and SBS Transit represents a bold step forward in transforming Singapore’s rail maintenance landscape with state-of-the-art robotic solutions.
*AVATAR, an AI-powered robotic dog, is designed to support rail technicians by conducting detailed train inspections with precision and efficiency. Outfitted with advanced sensors and a 360-degree camera, it autonomously detects anomalies such as missing screws and panels on the underside of train carriages. By automating this critical process, SBS Transit is enhancing the safety, accuracy, and reliability of its rail operations.
